Et me voilà à Paris, finalement !

I have been away for a long time. During this period, I visited Israel, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, to attend the conference on Lamarck, French biologist, that was held at the occasion of the bicentennial of the publication of his "Philosophie zoologique". This was in June. And in early July I was in Cambridge, UK, to attend a meeting for Darwin. This was held at the occasion of the bicentenary of his birth and the 150th anniversary of the publication of "On the Origin of Species" ("On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life", to be exact). Both were, as expected, inspirational for me. I may come back to these two visits later. And I spent about three weeks this summer in Japan to meet my many old friends and to give two talks on the role of philosophy in science, one in Sapporo, Hokkaido, and another in Tokyo. This was my first experience, talking solely on this subject. But both turned out to be interesting occasions for interacting with active researchers, especially with younger generations.

Et me voilà à Paris. I am still struggling with writing up the mémoire for master 2.
